Scripture:
Psalm 139:16 (NIV)
"Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be."
Reflection:
Before you took your first breath, Jesus had already written out the days of your life. You were given an assignment before you were formed in your mother's womb. This means your life right now—today, this very moment—has purpose with God. You're not just killing time until heaven. You're not drifting aimlessly. Jesus created you, redeemed you, and is leading you into the good works He prepared for you to walk in. Stop looking everywhere else for meaning—in careers, relationships, achievements, or possessions. Your purpose is found in abiding in Jesus and following where His Spirit leads.
Prayer:
Lord, I confess that I've looked for purpose in so many places other than You. I've searched for meaning in my career, my relationships, my accomplishments—and come up empty. Thank You that You created me with an assignment, with days ordained for Your purposes. Help me discover what You've called me to do. Lead me by Your Spirit into the good works You've prepared for me. Amen.
Action:
Ask yourself honestly: "Where have I been looking for purpose outside of God?" Confess those areas to Him, and commit to spending focused time in His presence this week, asking Him to reveal the assignment He's given you.
