God's Word Reveals His Wisdom

 Scripture:
1 Corinthians 2:10-12; James 1:5
"For who knows a person's thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us."

  Reflection:

The sermon reminded us that we can't know everything about God - our finite minds can't comprehend His infinite nature. But here's the incredible promise: the same Holy Spirit who inspired Scripture lives in you if you're born again. When you sit down to read God's Word, the Spirit who knows the mind of God perfectly is ready to illuminate truth to you. You're not left to figure it out on your own. The Spirit takes God's wisdom off the page and plants it in your heart exactly when you need it. There's always more wisdom available than you've currently accessed. The question is: are you positioning yourself to receive it?

  Prayer:

Holy Spirit, I need Your wisdom today. I acknowledge that without You, Scripture remains just words on a page. But with You, it becomes living and active, sharper than any double-edged sword. Open my understanding as I read. Help me not just to gain information, but to receive transformation. Give me wisdom for the decisions I face, the relationships I navigate, and the challenges before me. Amen.

  Action:

Before your Bible reading today, pray specifically for the Holy Spirit's illumination. Read Proverbs 2:1-11 slowly. Then spend 5 minutes in silence, asking God to bring to mind one piece of wisdom you need for today's challenges. Write it down and refer back to it throughout your day.
