Scripture:
2 Timothy 3:16
"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness."
Reflection:
The Bible isn't just inspiring—it's inspired. The Greek word Paul uses is theopneustos—God-breathed. This isn't merely a collection of human wisdom or religious philosophy. These words originated from the very breath of God. Forty-four authors, writing over 1,500 years, on three continents, never contradicting each other, all pointing to the same redemptive story culminating in Jesus Christ. That's not coincidence—that's divine inspiration.
When you open Scripture, you're not just reading ancient history. You're encountering the living God who speaks into your present circumstances. The same Spirit who inspired these words lives in you, making them come alive. That's why a verse you've read a hundred times can suddenly hit you with fresh power—the Spirit is your personal tutor, bringing truth off the page and into your heart.
This Word has transformed billions of lives throughout history. It's transformed yours. Trust its power.
Prayer:
Holy Spirit, thank You for inspiring Scripture and for living in me to illuminate it. Open my eyes to see fresh truth each time I read. Let Your Word be more than information—let it be transformation. When I'm confused, teach me. When I'm wrong, rebuke me. When I'm off course, correct me. Train me in righteousness. Amen.
Action:
Read one chapter of Matthew today (continuing the church's reading plan). As you read, pause and ask the Holy Spirit to highlight one verse specifically for you. Write it down and meditate on it throughout the day.
