From Hosanna to Hallelujah

Scripture:
Revelation 5:12-13
"In a loud voice they were saying: 'Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!' Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying: 'To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!'"

Reflection:

The Palm Sunday crowd shouted "Hosanna!"—save us, we pray. By Friday, many of those same voices cried "Crucify Him!" But the story doesn't end at the cross. Tomorrow we celebrate Resurrection Sunday, when Jesus conquered death and the grave. The "Hosanna" of Palm Sunday becomes the "Hallelujah" of Easter morning. The King who rode humbly on a donkey will one day return on a white horse. The Lamb who was slain is now the Lion who reigns. And one day—perhaps soon—every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. The question isn't whether Jesus is King. He is, and He always will be. The question is whether we'll acknowledge Him as King now, while there's still time to choose. The crowd had their moment to decide. They chose wrong. But you still have your moment. Today, you can cross from death to life, from darkness to light, from the wide road to the narrow path. As we prepare to celebrate the resurrection, let's make sure we're not just celebrating an event, but surrendering to a Person—the risen King who is alive and active and calling you to follow Him. From Hosanna to Hallelujah—that's the journey of every true follower of Christ. We cry out for Him to save us, and then we spend eternity praising Him because He did.

Prayer:
Risen King, You are alive! You conquered sin, death, and the grave. You are seated at the right hand of the Father, interceding for me. You are coming back to establish Your kingdom on this earth. I bow before You today and declare: You are Lord. Not just Lord of heaven, but Lord of my life. Not just King someday, but King right now. I choose to follow You, worship You, and serve You all my days. From my Hosanna to my Hallelujah, You are worthy. Come quickly, Lord Jesus. Amen.

Action:

As you prepare for Resurrection Sunday tomorrow, take inventory of your life. Are there areas where you're still shouting "Hosanna" (asking Jesus to save you from something) but not yet shouting "Hallelujah" (praising Him as Lord over that area)? Identify one specific area and make a decision today to move from asking to surrendering, from requesting to worshiping. Then invite someone to celebrate Resurrection Sunday with you—either in person or by sharing what Jesus has done in your life. Let your Hallelujah be heard.
