Scripture:
Psalm 78:4-7
"We will not hide them from their descendants; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD, his power, and the wonders he has done... so the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children. Then they would put their trust in God."
Reflection:
Legacy isn't what we leave for others—it's what others can accomplish because we were part of their lives. God's mission has always been multi-generational. We're called to tell the next generation about His praiseworthy deeds so that children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will put their trust in Him. This isn't just the responsibility of parents or youth workers—it's the calling of every believer. Whether you're 15 or 85, you have a role in reaching the next generation. They need to see authentic faith lived out. They need to hear the stories of what God has done. They need you to invest in them now.
Prayer:
Father, break my heart for the next generation. Help me see young people the way You see them—not as distractions or problems, but as the future of Your church. Show me how to invest in them, whether through prayer, service, mentoring, or simply making space for them to lead. Give me a burden to pass on the faith so that generations I'll never meet will know and love You. Use me to build a legacy that outlasts my lifetime. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Action:
Pray specifically for the youth and children of Victory Family Church by name if you know them, or as a group if you don't. Ask God to show you one practical way you can invest in the next generation this month—whether that's volunteering in children's ministry, attending a youth event, or mentoring a younger believer.
