Scripture:
Proverbs 27:6
"Wounds from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses."
Reflection:
Mordecai could have stayed silent. He could have let Esther remain comfortable in her palace, protected by her secret identity. Instead, he spoke hard truth: "Don't think that because you're in the king's house you alone of all the Jews will escape." Sometimes love requires us to be the Mordecai in someone's life—to speak uncomfortable truth, to challenge complacency, to call out potential. And sometimes we need to be humble enough to receive that word when someone speaks it to us. Who in your life has permission to challenge you? Who are you called to lovingly confront? The legacy we're building requires both courage to speak and humility to listen.
Prayer:
Father, give me discernment to know when to speak hard truths in love and when to remain silent. Help me be a faithful friend who cares more about someone's spiritual growth than their temporary comfort. And Lord, give me a humble heart to receive correction and challenge from those You've placed in my life. Surround me with people who love me enough to tell me what I need to hear, not just what I want to hear. Amen.
Action:
Identify someone in your life who may need a loving challenge or word of truth. Pray for three days about whether and how to speak. If God confirms it, have that conversation this week with grace and humility. Also, ask someone you trust if there's anything they see in your life that needs addressing.
