The Power of Preparation

Scripture:
Proverbs 16:9
"In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps."

Reflection:

Esther didn't wake up one morning as queen. God protected, preserved, prepared, and positioned her over time. Every season of her life—the loss of her parents, living with Mordecai, the beauty treatments, learning palace protocol—was preparation for the moment that mattered most. Nothing in your life has been wasted. The skills you've developed, the hardships you've endured, the relationships you've built, the lessons you've learned—God is weaving it all together for His purposes. You may not see how it all connects yet, but God is preparing you for something significant. Don't despise the preparation season. Embrace it. The faithfulness you show in obscurity determines the impact you'll have in opportunity.

Prayer:

God, help me trust Your timing and Your preparation process. When I'm tempted to rush ahead or give up in frustration, remind me that You are establishing my steps. Give me patience to learn what You're teaching me in this season. Help me be faithful in the small, hidden things, knowing that You're preparing me for greater things. Thank You that nothing in my life is wasted when it's surrendered to You. Amen.

Action:

List three difficult experiences or seasons from your past. Ask God to show you one skill, strength, or insight you gained from each that He might use for His purposes in the future. Thank Him for the preparation, even when it was painful.
