Scripture:
Hebrews 11:39-40
"These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised, since God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect."
Reflection:
Esther never met Jesus. She never saw the full fruit of her obedience, the preservation of the Jewish people, the continuation of David's line, the birth of the Messiah. Yet every Christian owes a debt to her courage. Your faithful obedience today is planting seeds for a harvest you may never see. Someone will serve Jesus in 30 years because you served faithfully today. Someone will lead because you followed. Someone will believe because you obeyed. You're not just living for yourself, you're building a spiritual legacy that will outlive you.
Prayer:
Father, help me live with an eternal perspective. Free me from the need to see immediate results or receive recognition for my obedience. Give me faith to plant seeds I may never see grow, to invest in people I may never see mature, to build for generations I'll never meet. Let my life count for something far beyond my lifetime. In Jesus' name, amen.
Action:
Do something today specifically for the next generation: mentor a younger believer, invest financially in youth ministry, write an encouraging note to a young person, or pray by name for children/teens in your church.
